Pennington's intense passion for painting has been a lifelong endeavor.  His talents were quite evident even as a young boy and he was encouraged to continue his art education while in high school in Valparaiso, Indiana.

After graduation Jeff ventured out to the west coast to further his schooling.  In Los Angeles he honed his painting skills studying under the tutorial of California artist Keith Daniels.  During this period Jeff developed what has become his trademark bold style and dramatic use of light and shadow.  He also experimented in several mediums that led to an affinity for acrylic on canvas.  
 
Returning to Indiana Jeff entered Valparaiso University and studied graphic arts under well known artist Richard Brauer.
 
Jeff moved to South Bend, Indiana, where the inspiration of the
University of Notre Dame produced several commissioned and limited edition prints including the well known piece "Wake Up The Echoes."
